The Amazing Art and Toys We Loved at DesignerCon 2026
These days, everything has its own convention. Comic books, sports cards, automobiles, even Star Wars. But what’s the convention for just a bunch of random, awesome stuff? It’s called DesignerCon and, this year, it came back to Los Angeles.

As an art collector, I first stumbled on DesignerCon a few years ago when it took place in Anaheim, California. It’s basically what the name says: a convention for artists and creators to showcase their work. And that comes in many different forms with even more subjects, as you’ll soon see.
The convention primarily lived in Anaheim for a few years before recently moving to Las Vegas. And while the convention is returning to Las Vegas in a few months (November 13-15, get more info here), last weekend it made its triumphant return to the Los Angeles area in Pasadena. The team was kind enough to give io9 a pass to attend and below is just a small sampling of the amazing stuff we found at the convention. More info on each piece is in the caption.

Cool Creature ornaments, wearing a lei, by Ron Monsters
Super cool custom He-Man sold by Toy Creed
A 3D printed Scream diorama by Drape’s Creations
An awesome Frank and Bride bag by Brittnee Braun
Cool Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge art by Figment & Fable
Super cool wooden Jawas by The Loulander
Ghostface gets a remake with this design by Crax Toys
Revenge of the Sith gets Spaceballed in this piece by Centerpoint Studios
The myth of the ET game comes to life with this toy from DKE Toys
Casey Jones in Carbonite by Toys on Tap

Gorgeous graffiti Delorean by Henry715

And, of course, the best part of DesignerCon is that these are just my favorites. I have very specific tastes. If you like anything at all—seriously, anything—it’s represented at this event. If you’ve never been, we highly recommend it.
