The Latest ‘Star Wars’ Lego Is Physically Its Biggest in History

You can’t make a Lego set, describe it as “Super,” and not have it be exactly that. Thankfully, Lego’s new Star Wars set of a Super Star Destroyer delivers and then some. It clocks in at over 6,000 pieces and, when assembled, measures over four feet long (53.5 inches, to be exact). That makes it, according to Lego, the longest Lego set ever released.

The Executor Super Star Destroyer, the personal ship of the Sith Lord Darth Vader, is set for release on October 4 and will cost $800. Which is, obviously, a lot. But this is part of the Ultimate Collector’s Series, a high-end series of Lego sets aimed at adult fans. Here are a few of the images.

So, in addition to the massive Super Star Destroyer, you get that tiny one for scale and seven minifigures, including—for the first time ever in a Lego set—the full collection of bounty hunters from The Empire Strikes Back: Boba Fett, Dengar, Bossk, IG-88, 4-LOM, and Zuckuss. The seventh one is, of course, Vader himself.

If we’re being honest here, the biggest issue with this set isn’t the price. It’s “Where the hell are you going to put it?” It’ll look awesome, of course, but it’s basically the size of a human child. Do you want to have a human child just lying on your coffee table at all times? (Don’t answer that.)

And not that you’d need extra incentive to buy this thing, but Lego Insider members who order it from October 1-7 have a shot at a Lego recreation of Darth Vader’s lightsaber.
