Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man‘s Finale Sets Up a Web of Comic Book Storylines
Despite an awkward social media deluge about wokeism before its premiere, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man has proven to be a refreshing return to form on Disney+. In a series of batch releases, the animated show captivated audiences weekly with its remix of Peter Parker in the MCU while also throwing in a cornucopia of references to past Spider-Man films and niche comic book iconography.
While many of the show’s Easter eggs, like deep-cut Spider-suits, are par for the course for Marvel projects, the show’s finale features a rapid-fire list of names that could spell out where the series will go next in its already greenlit second and third seasons.
In the final episode of Spider-Man, Parker’s resident man in the chair, Harry Osborne, splinters off from his father to start his hero organization enterprise. After shooting a mass email to hopefuls to join his cause, we see a shot of a whiteboard with a long list of names. Should you not be an in-the-trenches comic book aficionado with encyclopedic knowledge of character’s government names, we’ve got you. Barring the names that are shout-outs to animation and comic book artists, here’s a breakdown of who those names are and their superhero aliases.
Peter Parker: Obviously! Given everything, it would be weird if Harry wouldn’t have him at the top of the list.
Priya Aggarwal: Priya isn’t necessarily a new name since we’ve seen her here and there whenever Parker was cooking up in the lab. Although much of Priya’s lore has her working within the research departments of organizations like AIM and Pym Labs, Priya also gains the power to manipulate plants. She learns the ropes while teaming up with fellow hero Finesse (we’ll get to her).
Amadeus Cho: Aside from being a lab partner of Parker’s under Norman Osborn, Amadeus is also the Totally Awesome Hulk. Seeing as how he seemingly turned down Harry’s offer, it’ll probably be a matter of time before Peter comes to blows with Cho in the future.

Asha: Like Amadeus and Priya, Asha getting the headhunter call from Harry is some aggressive big dogging from the young mogul. Aside from being the show’s Wakandan intern, Asha inevitably gains superpowers. Her skill set allows her to manipulate light. Perhaps she’ll foil Doc Ock’s plan for harnessing the power of the sun should the show double down on that reference.
Scott Forbes: Scott Forbes isn’t a name that’ll have you pointing at your TV like, say, “Leonardo DiCaprio” would, but his mere mention does tease that he’ll play a role in preventing Haller Industries from kidnapping a member of the Inhumans to steal their genes to save an ailing son, as you do.
Ned Leeds: Despite serving as Parker’s guy in the chair, Ned Leeds also looks like he’ll be involved in some capacity in the future. Time will tell if they’ll have MCU actor Jacob Batalon reprise his role as the fan-favorite character.

Max Dillon: It wouldn’t be a Spider-Man epic if Electro didn’t participate. Here’s hoping the knife of his villainous heel turn won’t hurt Parker as much as it did his silver screen counterparts.
Tiberius Stone: Tony Stark’s business rival and gifted with the power of being smart, Tiberius Stone is the genius behind Alchemax and Horizon Labs and the grandfather of Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099. So yeah, there are enormous implications for his participation in the future.
Jean Foucault: Jean is another of Parker’s coworkers at Oscorp who just so happens to moonlight as Daredevil’s sidekick, Finesse. She’ll likely serve as a third-party hero to Spider-Man’s heroics while giving him the down low on the criminal underworld. Fingers crossed her daddy dearest, Taskmaster, will make an appearance as well.

Kiden Nixon: Nixon is a mutant with the power to manipulate time around her. Her origin story is closely tied to Laura Kinney, aka X-23, so maybe Li’l Logan (as played by actor Dafne Keen) will also make her way to the series.
Tai Miranda: Miranda is another researcher (shocker) who worked at Pym Labs and helped construct a lot of gizmos for the Wasp.
Ripley Ryan: Ripley Ryan is a superpowered comic book character whose origin is closely tied to Captain Marvel’s as Star. After going through an experimental Kree human experimentation, Ripley gains powers closely resembling Captain Marvel’s, though she’s anything but virtuous.
Diane Jenkins: The last name on Harry’s whiteboard is the one with the most significant implications for future seasons. Diane Jenkins is Spider-Woman, or at least she pretends to be before the real Spider-Woman, Jessica Drew, hits the scene to prevent her case of mistaken identity from ruining Jenkins’ life. Her name-drop teases someone else will get the bug in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
And that about does it for Spider-Man‘s final assortment of Easter eggs. Given that the show was renewed quickly for two more seasons, Marvel Animation will likely not put all its chickens in one basket (get it?) by overstuffing its sophomore effort with all of the above names and the breadth of their respective backstories. If anything, it’ll probably dedicate a bunch of time to the bonkers reveal that Parker’s father, Richard, is alive and in prison.
